I had to watch a live human birth in 8th grade. It was shocking to everyone in my class except me. Not that much different from any other mammalian birth, save for the fact that the human female's pelvis is unique among mammals. The shape of the human pelvis creates an extremely narrow birth canal; human females will usually need assistance giving birth, whereas most other animals need no assistance.

The shape of the human pelvis allows for habiutal bipedal locomotion. In other words, the shape of our pelvis lets us walk upwright, but it does make for a rather narrow birth canal.
