Leopold listened to what Shikahn said, and he was filled with dread and anger, at Nightwing. There was nothing more precious than the innocent people and creatures dwelling within this world. To corrupt them...well, it was a horrible thing indeed. He watched the foul sludge appear through the water. The beautiful being corrupted...it made a low growl filter through his teeth. But the world renewed itself, the taint dissipating. It filled him with vigor to see it, though, not knowing the lore of the world, he did not completely understand.
Before, Leopold had only seen him from a distance. From up close, though, Nightwing was terrifying. Truly terrifying. Yet, intriguing as well. He shook the feeling off. He was here to fight, to defend the innocent.
He looked to Reyx and Shikahn for guidance; he didn't want to just rush out into battle. For all he knew, he might just mess things up.

"Stop him!" Reyx roared as the mighty black dragon reared to attack the Council. Nightwing took a great breath, rearing backward to let loose hellish flame upon them, but Reyx at that moment slammed into the Foul One, knocking him aside. The black, bollowing flame missed its target, the water of the river hissing and steaming as the white-hot black flame made contact with its surface. Nightwing stumbled and fell, splashing into the water again.

"You'll pay for that, Reyx Greatwind!" Nightwing hissed with a toss of his head. He lunged from the water, jaws snapping around Reyx's foreleg.

But suddenly, something impacted the side of Nightwing's face. It was Leopold, who had rushed to Reyx's aid. It knocked his face out of the way of the leg, causing his jaws to clamp shut...on air.
((Sorry, short...))

Shikahn took a deep breath. She knew what she was going to do. She took aim and.... WHOOSH! the fire shot, faster than a speeding bullet, knocking Nightwing in the head, and exploding on the side of his face. It wasn't that strong, but it left a mark on the side of his face. "See that Nightwing? You're not the only one who has forces. Already, over two days, Reyx has trained me to do that!" Shikahn shouted. "Leopold and Reyx are stronger than me... So I suggest you back off!"

"Thank you," Reyx said with a nod, pulling his forearm back. With a snarl, he thrust it forward, taloned hand slamming into Nightwing's head. As the dragon stood, reeling, Reyx flicked his thick, spiked tail. Nightwing's thick white blood spurted from the wounds the spines inflicted.

Nightwing roared in annoyance more than pain as the bronze one struck him in succession, his tail-spines diggind deep into his scaly side. He was far from beaten, but he had had more than a taste of what his enemies could do. He'd been battered, burned, and struck by magic from a tree. It was time to regroup.
With a flap of his wings, he evaporated into an incoporeal mist, just as he had done the night of his "death." A sliver of the evil substance that Nightwing had spewed into the river shaped itself into several large demonic creatures; shadow spawn that Nightwing created from the evil magic within. They were weak, but they were just enough of a distraction for Nightwing to escape. The mist disappeared, and a dozen shadow creatures dived, screaming, on the trio of dragons.

He could see, from where he was, the feathery dragon's--unfortunately, he hadn't gotten a name--assault. She was brave, and that was very commendable.
As he rushed forward, something about Nightwing seemed...familiar. He wasn't sure what it was, though. As though he'd seen that shade of scales before...he shook it off, biting and tearing at Nightwing's flesh, as Reyx slammed his spiked tail into Nightwing. He was quiet; battle required focus, and his teeth and jaws, which was what he was best with.
And then he disappeared, leaving Leopold with a mouthful of white blood, and several tainted creatures. They were too fargone to be saved, he was sure, and so, as he spat out the blood, and tore at the creatures on his back, he felt he was doing them a favour. He was sure Nightwing wasn't dead...but it was something to be expected, even by him. After all, something that strong couldn't just...die.

Shikahn yelled as the Shadow creatures came upon her. Nightwing had gotten away! "I'll be back guys." Shikahn quickly spoke, leaving the others to fight the shadow creatures. She held her nose to the air... Nightwing was not far away. He was in fact, probably watching how the others fight... She ran after the smell...

Reys watched as Nightwing dissapeared, making a public show of how his "death" had been achieved. "Coward!" he roared. "Come back and fight me!" But Reyx knew that he would not. He had learned enough about what they could do. He was returning to wherever he might nest, to create an army of his own. An army bred for one purpose: To stamp out all hope, and to burn the land to the ground. At that moment, several of the shadow creatures at once attacked him, knocking him to the ground. Their claws of hardened shadow tore easily through his scales; his yellow-green blood stained the ground. With a single lunge, one of them was defeated. Their strength was not in raw power, but in numbers. These were Nightwing's shock troops, created entirely from shadow, fire, and air, given life by the evil magic that Nightwing radiated. These were not spawned from any living creature. In the Great War, they had appeared by the thousands. Tens of thousands. They had almost overwhelmed the army of Prox, which had not been ready for the war. Even many of the great Dragons fell to them. There had just been too many of them. But Reyx had fought, fought his way up to the mountainside, the demons on his back the whole way. He had flung them aside, meeting Nightwing in battle.
Reyx finished the ones that attacked him, infusing his claws with magic, ripping easily through their half-coporeal bodies. They screeched and vanished into mist, though when these did so, it meant that they truly died. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Shikhan.
"Shikhan!" he called. "He will not appear. He has gone to prepare for war. So shall we. Now is not the time to fight him..." As much as he hated to admit it, as much as he wanted to rip Nightwing's head from his neck, he knew that he spoke the truth. He looked to Leo, who had a look on his face of puzzlement. He would ask later. He was doing well against his opponents. But two or three of the shadow creatures might overpower Shikhan in size... but he realized that the smaller dragon would probably be fine. She was full of surprises. He had no idea how many.

Shikahn stopped, listening to Reyx's words. He was right: She had lost his scent. He had gone completely. He had watched for a moment, and then was gone... "Strange..." She mumbled out loud. Then the shadow creatures landed beside her. They seemed less willing to attack. "Come on then! I've wanted to kill you guys since your kin killed mine!" Shikahn screamed. The two smaller shadow creatures tried to circle round Shikahn, but she knew how she was going to fight. She took to the air, flying pretty fast, rose up, faster and faster, until she dived down, like a falcon. And with that dive, she shot two projectiles from her mouth, each one hitting the rather slow shadow creatures. he speed meant that the flame she fired had more power, and the shadow creatures blew up, splating shadow guts everywhere. "Come on then, come fight me." Shikahn snapped, at the final, larger creature. "Issss do not wisssh to fight. Isssss come to asssssk you a quesstion."

Shikahn. So that was her name. He hoped that he would survive to meet her, and to meet Reyx. But now, riding off of his battle-rage, Leopold tore and tore at minions of darkness, minions of Nightwing’s, teeth and claws slashing through any and all that attacked them. He drew upon his battlerage like a berserker. These enemies were ones that deserved no mercy, even those that were formerly good creatures that had been corrupted. Those...well, they deserved escape. Freedom from their prison.
Leopold heard his name being spoken, and not by one of his two allies. He fixed his gaze on the large creature that posed him an offer. His own response was almost instant; he didn’t give himself time to even consider. He didn’t want to know if there was some sick side of him that wanted that. “Join Nightwing? Slaughter the innocent? Never...” he growled. “You are a fool to ask someone like me such a question!” And with that, riding on his battlerage, the dragon flew towards the larger creature.
He hoped in his heart that Shikahn would, like him, choose the obvious right choice.

Shikahn hesitated. Why had it asked her? And Leopold? But not Reyx... Something evil, buried very deep within her stirred, and reared at the chance. But the rest of her crushed it. Nightwing was responsible for her fammilys death. She would never join him. Her dark red eyes flared, and she growled. "I'd never join Nightwing." But before the shadow creature heard her, it was tackled by Leopold. But then another thought popped up... How did the Shadowcreature know their names?

Reyx watched as this unfolded, slaying the last creature that had decided to attack him. He watched as they made their decisions. And he wondered why the monster had confronted only them. He was just as confused as the other two were.
