We're not worried about the Howlers because they have not decided to reside on this planet, or tried to invade it. In fact, it is not a good thing to worry about a threat that may never come. In fact, they may not even be real. Some say that the books were twisted so that they were unrealistic enough to make the majority of the humans not believe in it. So, the reason why we are not worried about them is, they may not even be real, and if they are, we know how to defeat them, and we also know that they probably won't taget this planet for a while.

and yes the pemaliltes were killed by them but there not all lovy dovy like the books the odds are that the iskroot are dead and rotting flesh being eaten by howlers

You make no sense!
And you can't just cover your ears to evade the howlers. You'd have to have a vacume pair of earmuffs, so you don't have any sound get through. Even then, some say the frequency of the howl kills the brain cells, so that wouldn't even help.

Howlers are the creations of Crayak. According to the animorphs books, they are only children, and don't really know that their killings habits are wrong. The books also say that Jake stopped their love of killing by giving the memories of his love for his friends. Since each one knows what the others know, none of them could kill.
The reason they are called Howlers is because their howl is their main weapon. It shorts out the brain of sentient creatures.
