Probably not the best person to dispel this advice to you youngsters being as that I am pretty brash and bold and somewhat even careless with my secretiveness concerning this... but I think that part of being an adult (Im 22) is helping lead and give advice to younger generations.
If you want to be safe in this stuff, there are ways to do so. First of all, make sure you don't have prying eyes while you are on this site. I know my parents were always passing by the screen to see what I was doing when I was young and I hated it even though they were just making sure I was being safe (the internet, while it is better guarded now and adults are more apt to teach children internet safety).
Also, make sure to go back and delete your browser history. If you have windows vista, internet explorer should have an option in Tools to delete browser history. I do this after each time I visit this site. Though I live with my boyfriend and sister, it keeps me sure that no one decides to get nosy.
Also, don't leave anything you write down hanging around or pass notes about this in class. I had a person I suspected was a controller take up one of my notes when I was in 6th grade and that note alone made a wonderful phone call to my mom, who was not happy at all.
Also, don't trust just anyone. I know that is the Animorphs motto but it should be for this situation anyway. This is one of those things that not all people are as nice as they say. So, just be careful.

I have been involved with this for years and have researched something wicked with this. It's amazing to see this site because this openess was not around when I was younger.
Keep up the good work!
