Wolf heard the faint whisper from Nightcloud. "No." He said boldly. "It shall not."

"Yes," Reyx said gravely. "It means that unless he is defeated before his power can return to full strength... we are all of us doomed." Reyx flapped hard and gained altitude on the dragon, stooping into a streep dive, aiming his talons at the brute's wings. His greater size and weight would easily crush and break them, leaving the opponent crippled and grounded; easy to finish.

Wait were fighting Nightcloud this early on? *Shrugs*
Wolf distraced Reyx's target by spraying a jet of dark blue flames across his snout.

((Yeah, usually it's a little later on before Nightwing attacks.))

(Shakoa, I put your profile in the first page. You can post whenever. ^^)
Reyx's hit was successful. With the combination of his bulk and his strong talong, he broke the challenger's wings. He had no pity for the creature. It was a servant of Nightwing, the Foul One. It was a pitiless creature, and it deserved no less. The dragon gave a roar of pain and fear as it fell, unable to catch itself on the air with its broken wings before it hit the ground. Reyx did not watch.
He was... disturbed. In the Great War, the dragons had vowed never to fight by Nightwing's side. Now, it seemed, they had broken their word. It was bad... very bad indeed. If even Dragons were willing to fight for Nightwing now... what chance did Prox have? Or had Nightwing's power grown so terrible now that he could force his servants to fight? Too many questions. So few answers...
"Come, Wolf. There had been a change of plans. We must go see the Sages. Now." He gave a few mighty flaps of his golden wings, and rose higher above the mountain peaks. He pointed his nose in the direction of the forest-nation, Derinth. He was sure that the Sages would have the answers that he sought. They had to. When he had lived among them as a youngling, he had thought them infallible. All-knowing. He knew that this wasn't the case, but that's the way they seemed. And he needed their guidance now, more than ever before.
Reyx didn't know this, but the Sages had passed a prophecy to the people of Prox. It told the tale of a great evil that would take hold of the land.
Insert prophecy here. xD
He turned toward the forest, flying with an urgency that he had never felt before. He was scared. That was the only way he could describe it. Fear. He was afraid of the future. What it might hold.

Syrah looked up at the strange thing flying overhead. She had never seen one of these things before. It looked interesting... It had wings, a tail, a head. Like her. maybe it is like me She thought. So to gather the flying creatures attention, she took a deep breath... "Grrrrraaaaaaaa!" The sound wasn't impressive. But it was loud, so Syrah crossed her claws, in the hope that the creature had heard her.

Reyx heard a strange, shrill cry, coming from the ground beneath him. He was passing now over the foothills of the mountains that he had woken in, and the great plains of Prox were visible as far as the eye could see beyond the hills. His eyes were sharp, scanning for any sign of Nightwing's beasts, but he didn't see any. But he did see a young, white-and-blue creature far below. Curious, he banked his wings and began to spiral downward, to get a better look.
As he got closer, he could make out the shape of the small being. It looked like a dragon, he thought, except that it had feathered wings. But, he recalled, some of his kind did. From the looks of it, it was barely more than a hatchling. He gave a loud cry of warning before landing a few feet in front of the dragonling. He folded his wings tight, watching it curiously.
"Was that you, making such a noise?" he asked. He didn't know if the creature could understand what he said, but he figured that he would try.

Syrah looked at the great creature, with awe. He was so BIG! But that awe turned to fear... What if he ate me? Syrah asked herself. The dragon had asked her a question. Better answer it, better not get eaten. But this creature did not look like he was to eat her. He had a kind look in his eye, so she just managed to say...."Yes. I did make a noise. I-I wanted to know what you were."

"I?" he asked. "Why, I'm a dragon. Certainly you knew that." He fell forward onto all fours, getting closer to her level. He didn't mean to scare her. "And what are you? What is your name, young one?"

"A, a dragon? What's a dragon?" Syrah asked. Then she bodly said: "My name is Syrah. And I have been alone. Alone, since.. Since..." Syrah looked down, shy. She had never talked to a creature... Dragon before. "Since I can remember."

"You've been alone all your life?" Reyx said, a sadness in his voice. He was concerned for the young one's safety. And with Nightwing's return, it would not be safe anymore to wander alone.
"Well.. you're not alone anymore. I can help you." He smiled a draconic smile, and nodded. "Come on. You can come with me. I'm headed to the Forest of the Sages, to seek guidance. Perhaps they can help you, too. They are a great people. They know many things, and they are very wise. I'm sure they'll be able to help you."
He glanced at her wings. "Tell me, young one. Can you fly?"
He sensed a magic about this young dragon. Something different about her. But he didn't know what it could be. Perhaps a spell, or even a curse, of some kind was placed upon her. But he had a feeling that he would find out.
