From what I know of Earth creatures, you should not be frightened of a spider. They are many times smaller than us.

Did I miss something? Black widows are highly venomous. They use a potent neurotoxin to kill their prey, and a bite delivered by a mature female can, in many cases, be fatal to humans. Size is sort of irrelavent as to danger level.

Ok. I'm fine now. I checked the markings, and it was a female. Whoopee! I could have died. GRRR......

The female will be large and solid black, with the underside of the abdomen marked with the characteristic bright red hourglass mark. Males are about half the size of the females, and are a dull brown with dark brown banding on the legs. The hourglass mark will be a rusty reddish brown. I've seen both of them up close and in person when I used to live in Naples, Florida, so they don't bother me too much.
Sorry. I'm a total nerd, and self-proclaimed animal expert. xD

Ahem, a spider is not poisonous, its venomous. Venom can be ingested in large amounsts with no ill affects whereas poison is lethal when ingested.

Correct. Venom must be injected to cause harm, in most cases.

What human came up with that? I think your mistaken..... And I usualy kill the spider. I prefer not to have hand-sized spiders roaming, especialy near my pet birds and chickens.
