Taxxons are allies of the Yeerks. They are cannibalistic and look like giant centipedes with cone-legs and lobster-claws. Taxxons will eat anything, even their own kind, and if given the chance, their own selves.
ALL Taxxons are VOLUNTARY Yeerk hosts.

Why are they voluntary? ? Did they surrender or something?

They fear starvation. It is a hunger most severe. They had no choice but to accept the Yeerk slug as payment for the meat the Yeerks provide them.

I agree. Destroy the Taxxons.
But I do not like killing the Hork-Bajir. They are unwilling hosts.

I had the luck to have infested a Taxxon during the Taxxon-Yeerk treaty. A horrid experience.

Must have been awful. So far i've only had to deal with Hork-Bajir and Humans *sigh of relief*

I have never seen a taxxon, although i have does a bit of hunting on the net and found a reference to a 'ten-foot centipede with bulging red eyes and an insatiable hunger'.

Insatiable hunger? Ha. That doesn't even begin to describe the horrors of taking a Taxxon. I should know. I was once one myself.

Couldn't you control their movements? Being a yeerk and all, didn't you have control over their brains/bodies?

Not over the Taxxon instinct. It is an instinct most strong. A fear of death by starvation.
