Above is a link to a picture showing a common variety Earth slug. It is a fairly close aproximation to what a Yeerk looks like. Unless you're planning to visit the Yeerk pool complex don't count on seeing a real one anytime soon. Yeerks have two palps used for sensing obstructions inthe ear canal. They are blind though they use sonar to get a general idea of where they are and to communicate with other Yeerks. They are mostly grey though they have a greenish tint to their skin. They are coated in a layer of slime which makes it particularly revolting when they enter your ear. They have small mouth-like parts called osmosis nodes that are not seen by the Human eye but are there nonetheless. They allow the Yeerk to absorb nutrients. Yeerks can stretch membrane thin and spread over the entire brain. They connect to synapses which allows them to see memories so they can duplicate their host with ease. They also tie into nuerons which control motor function. Ocasionally if a host is strong enough they canregain control of their neurons for a brief time. I wrote this thread becasue there seemed to be general confusion about the appearance and abilities of Yeerks.
